Te Tii Marae have submitted a proposal to the Manatū Taonga Cultural Sector Regeneration Fund. The application is for the development of a digital data repository for storing Marae heritage information and is a co-designed partnership with Victoria University. This digital preservation and protection project is intended to increase the capacity and capability of Te Tii Marae to improve the safeguarding of Mātauranga Māori and Toi Māori both current and in the future. In effect this will create a digital wahi tapu - a sacred storehouse of our most tapu and at risk taonga.
